t night, I had a crazy dream about my girlfriend doing a stand-up comedy show in English. It was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. She started by saying, "So, I have a Chinese boyfriend who doesn't speak English very well. We communicate through Google Translate and sometimes it makes things worse. Like, I once asked him to buy me a "pad" and he brought me a pack of notepads." The audience burst into laughter and she continued, "But the other day, he surprised me by saying 'I love you' in English. I was touched until he added 'Because you are my pillow.' Turns out, he mistook 'pillow' for 'treasure.'" The crowd roared with laughter and she went on to share hilarious anecdotes about our cultural differences, like when she introduced me to her parents and they were shocked that I didn't know how to use chopsticks. She wrapped up the show by saying, "I may have a language barrier with my boyfriend, but it just makes things more interesting. He's charming and adorable and I wouldn't trade him for anyone else." I woke up from my dream feeling happy and grateful for my girlfriend's love and sense of humor. It may have been a dream, but it made me appreciate her even more.
