ихаил" - My Favorite Russian Name One of my favorite Russian names is Михаил (Mikhail). It is a very common name in Russia and is derived from the Hebrew name Michael, meaning "Who is like God?". The most notable of them all is probably Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union who helped bring about the end of the Cold War.
