I see a couple walking hand in hand, and my heart aches for what we used to have. But it's gone now, irreparable. I wonder if I'll ever find love again, or if this will be my fate. To always be the one left behind, with a broken heart and shattered hopes. It's a lonely existence, but one I've grown accustomed to. I dream of a day when the pain will fade, and I can think of you without feeling the familiar sting. But until then, I'll continue to pick up the pieces and soldier on, knowing that even though my heart is broken, it still beats.
