g: My English Name and My Journey of Learning English My name is Jing, and my English name is Jenny. I chose my English name when I started learning English in middle school. At that time, my English teacher asked us to pick an English name to make it easier for everyone to remember and pronounce our names. I chose Jenny because it sounds similar to my Chinese name, and it’s easy to remember. Learning English has been a long and challenging journey for me. I remember how difficult it was for me to understand my first English lesson. The pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary seemed so different from my native language. I struggled with basic phrases and sentences and felt embarrassed to speak in front of others. However, I was determined to learn English to communicate with people from different countries and cultures. I spent many hours listening to English songs, watching English movies and TV shows, and practicing with my classmates and teachers. I also joined English clubs and participated in public speaking competitions to improve my speaking skills. Over time, I became more confident in speaking English and started to appreciate the beauty and diversity of the language. I learned about different cultures and explored new ideas and perspectives. English opened up new opportunities for me, such as studying abroad, working for international companies, and making friends from all over the world.
